Ryan Bertrand keen on permanent Southampton move

Southampton right-back Ryan Bertrand says that he would be happy to make his loan move from Chelsea permanent.

Ryan Bertrand has revealed that he is keen to sign a permanent deal with Southampton.

The right-back has impressed on a season-long loan from Chelsea and has started and finished 19 of the Saints' 20 Premier League outings.

Asked by Sky Sports News if he was happy to remain at St Mary's beyond the expiration of his loan, the 25-year-old said: "Yeah definitely. I'm enjoying my football here so we will see what the future holds.

"I'm very happy here, playing week-in, week-out first and foremost. Playing the way we play, with these players, this manager and this coaching staff is getting the best out of me."

Ronald Koeman's side beat fellow top-four hopefuls Arsenal 2-0 on Thursday to stay fourth in the table.
