Southampton midfielder Harrison Reed has joined Championship side Blackburn Rovers on a season-long loan.
Reed came through the ranks at Southampton but has struggled to break into the first team on a regular basis, making only 30 senior appearances for the club since his debut five years ago.
The 23-year-old spent last season on loan at Norwich City, and he will now return to the Championship with newly-promoted Blackburn for the entirety of the 2018-19 campaign.
"I'm absolutely delighted. I was excited to come up here once I'd heard of the interest about a week ago. I met the manager, looked around the training ground and we made the move happen. Once I spoke to the manager and he told me the style of play and how he saw me playing in the team it was an easy decision to make," Reed told the club's official website.
"The club is going in the right direction with the momentum from last season and the start we have had this season. I'm told we have been unlucky not to have won a couple more games. Last season was my first with regular first team football. I felt I really improved with the game time and I feel this is the perfect place for me to come to really impress again.
"I learnt a few things on and off the pitch at Norwich. It's all experience and goes towards your career. It was tough and quite eye-opening at the start, with the pace and physicality, but once I adapted to that I felt I really improved as a player. I'm looking forward to returning to the Championship and impressing again."
Reed could make his debut for Rovers during Sunday's trip to face Bristol Rovers.
