Danny Rose still absent from Tottenham Hotspur squad due to hamstring injury

England international Danny Rose will miss a third Tottenham Hotspur game in succession after being ruled out for another week.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that he will once again be without full-back Danny Rose for this weekend's meeting with Sunderland.

The 26-year-old has missed the Lilywhites' last two games as a result of a hamstring injury picked up on international duty with England at the start of the month.

Spurs were hoping to have Rose back in contention for the visit of Sunderland on Sunday afternoon, but Pochettino expects to be without the Englishman for at least another week - also ruling him out of the EFL Cup tie with Gillingham.

"Danny is recovering well but is still not 100%," he told reporters. "We will probably need to wait one more week."

Ben Davies is expected to deputise for Rose at White Hart Lane, as Spurs look to put their midweek Champions League disappointment behind them by returning to winning ways.
