Bayern Munich are reportedly in line to edge out Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign Schalke 04 goalkeeper Alexander Nubel.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly likely to miss out on the signing of goalkeeper Alexander Nubel.

With the stopper due to leave Schalke 04 at the end of the season, a number of clubs across Europe have been monitoring the situation.

Spurs are said to be keen to bring the 23-year-old in to provide competition for Hugo Lloris and Paulo Gazzaniga.

However, Bild claims that Bayern Munich are in line to sign Nubel on a five-year contract.

Should he make the switch to the Allianz Arena, Nubel is expected to act as deputy to Manuel Neuer.

During this campaign, the former Germany Under-21 international has made 17 appearances in all competitions.
