Sunderland boss Dick Advocaat 'frustrated' by survival fight

Sunderland head coach Dick Advocaat admits that he is frustrated that his team are not yet safe in the Premier League.

Sunderland head coach Dick Advocaat has admitted his frustrations that the team have not yet secured their Premier League survival.

The Dutchman replaced Gus Poyet in March when the Black Cats were 17th in the table.

Despite wins over Newcastle United, Southampton and Everton, the North-East outfit remain just two points above the relegation zone with three games left to play.

"It's a little bit frustrating that we still have to fight so hard to stay up," The Northern Echo quotes Advocaat as saying.

"We thought six points would be enough, then we got to 10 and we still need another three. Hopefully we can do that on Saturday."

The Black Cats will take on Leicester City at the Stadium of Light this weekend.
