Sunderland midfielder Jack Colback has insisted that the club has "too much quality" to be relegated from the Premier League.
The Black Cats, who travel to bottom-placed Queens Park Rangers on Saturday, are currently six points above the drop zone.
"It's a crucial time, we need to start picking up points and make sure we're not looking over our shoulder," Colback told the Sunderland Echo.
"We've got far too much quality in the team to be even contemplating the bottom three, but we still need a few points to get away from the relegation zone."
Sunderland make the trip to Loftus Road this weekend without a win in five matches.
