Report: Sam Allardyce to join Sunderland this summer

Sunderland are targeting Sam Allardyce as their manager for next season, according to reports.

Sunderland will approach Sam Allardyce this summer if he leaves West Ham United, according to reports.

The Wearside club have failed to win in their last six matches and sit just four points above the Premier League relegation zone.

The Daily Mail report that Sunderland manager Gus Poyet could be sacked after leading the club to just four wins this season.

Allardyce's contract at West Ham expires at the end of this season, and the club have reportedly been lining up replacements.
