Swansea City forward Nelson Oliveira expected to miss rest of season

Swansea City boss Garry Monk reveals that on-loan forward Nelson Oliveira is expected to be sidelined for the remainder of the season with an ankle injury.

Swansea City boss Garry Monk has revealed that forward Nelson Oliveira is likely to miss the rest of the season through injury.

The 23-year-old, who is on loan from Benfica, suffered an ankle problem during the Swans' 2-0 victory over Stoke City on May 2.

Oliveira has scored one goal in 11 appearances since arriving at the Liberty Stadium in January.

"Nelson is unlikely to be fit for any of the remaining games," Monk told the club's official website. "It's disappointing for us and for him because he's done well in recent weeks."

Swansea continue their Premier League campaign tonight when they take on Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
