Swansea City captain Garry Monk has insisted that the club's upcoming trip to Tenerife will benefit the squad.
Following the conclusion of the Saturday's Premier League fixture against Norwich City, the Swans players will board a plane bound for the Canary Islands for a five-day training camp.
"I'm sure there'll be people who will say we are going away on a jolly," Monk told the club's official website. "But we are going out there to work, and work hard.
"With the climate and facilities out there, it will allow us to put in some high-intensity sessions.
"Of course, there will be some time to relax, which is important for recovery, but this trip couldn't have come at a better time as it will also give some of the new faces a chance to bond further with the group."
The trip has been made possible because Swansea have been knocked out of the FA Cup.
