Swansea City captain Ashley Williams eyes top-eight finish

Ashley Williams believes that Swansea have a good chance of securing a top-eight finish this season.

Swansea City captain Ashley Williams has claimed that the club has a good chance of securing a top-eight finish in the Premier League table this season.

The Swans moved up to fifth place in the standings on Sunday thanks to a 2-1 victory at home to Arsenal.

Williams insists that Swansea are not getting carried away by their strong start to the season, but the defender is hopeful that they can maintain their form for the remainder of the campaign.

"We haven't put a target on it to be in the top half, we just want a good season," the Wales international told the club's official website. "There will be a couple of teams who will break into the top eight and I definitely want to see where we can go."

Swansea ended the 2013-14 Premier League campaign in 12th place.
