Ashley Williams: 'We must focus on ourselves'

Swansea City defender Ashley Williams insists that his side must concentrate on their own results as they attempt to secure survival in the Premier League.

Swansea City defender Ashley Williams has insisted that it is "impossible" to know how many points will be required to secure Premier League safety this season.

The Welsh outfit sit in 15th position in the league table, but with just three points separating them from the relegation zone, Williams has admitted that his team need to concentrate on picking up points from their final four games.

The 29-year-old is quoted by Sky Sports News as saying: "It's impossible to know what we require because of what a strange season it has been, both at the top and the bottom.

"You knew a day like Saturday was going to happen because teams are not going to keep losing every week.

"That day came and we knew this would be tough, but we have to concentrate on ourselves and if you are going to be in a relegation battle, I would prefer to be in our position with points on the board."

Swansea travel to St James' Park to face Newcastle United on Saturday.
