Swansea City boss Carlos Carvalhal: 'I am not under pressure'

Swansea City boss Carlos Carvalhal insists that he feels under no pressure at the Liberty Stadium, despite the club battling for survival in the Premier League.

Swansea City boss Carlos Carvalhal has insisted that he does not associate pressure with trying to keep the club in the Premier League.

Carvalhal has impressed since arriving at the Liberty Stadium with seven wins coming from 14 matches, but the Portuguese watched on last weekend as the Swans suffered a 4-1 defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion.

Swansea are now back in the relegation zone, but Carvalhal has claimed that he is not under any more pressure to succeed at the Welsh outfit.

At a press conference, the 52-year-old told reporters: "I do not feel under pressure. We were under as much pressure when we were six points above. This is not pressure, pressure is in Syria and Afghanistan, these kinds of situations.

"In football, it's pressure to win a game, you pretend to be better than the opponents and on the pitch, you have to discuss different arguments against a team and in the end see which team will win."

Swansea play host to fellow strugglers West Ham United on Saturday afternoon.
