Swansea City boss Bob Bradley insists that struggling Spanish forward Fernando Llorente has a future with the Welsh club.

Swansea City boss Bob Bradley has insisted that Fernando Llorente has a future with the Welsh club.

Llorente joined Swansea from Sevilla last summer, but has largely struggled during his short time in English football - managing just one Premier League goal since his arrival.

The 31-year-old was left out of Bradley's squad for the 1-1 draw with Everton last weekend, but the American has said that the experienced striker still "has a future" at the Liberty Stadium.

"Fernando has a future here, he is a good man. I had a very good conversation with Fernando when I told him he would not be in the squad for the Everton game," Bradley told reporters.

"Before he arrived he'd had a stretch of injuries. He got here, he's had some little knocks and I just told him. I've watched him plenty. I felt we'd made strides with him physically but he still wasn't where he needed to be.

"I felt his response to all that was playing with a little less mobility, and I think Fernando's best games in the past have not been about him being a target man."

Earlier this week, Llorente's agent claimed that his client was intent on proving his worth in English football.
