Swansea City have reportedly agreed a fee of £4m with Montpellier for versatile midfielder Benjamin Stambouli.
The 24-year-old was rumoured to be attracting interest from Fiorentina in recent weeks, but it now appears that Swansea are leading the race to secure his services before the end of the transfer window.
According to Goal.com, the Welsh club will now attempt to agree personal terms with Stambouli after matching Montpellier's valuation.
The Ligue 1 outfit were reported to be keen to keep Stambouli this summer, but have been forced to prepare for his exit as the France Under-21 international has just 12 months remaining on his current deal.
Montpellier have already been forced to sell to a Premier League club in the current window, with Remy Cabella completing a move to Newcastle United.
