Tranmere Rovers manager Ronnie Moore believes that new signing Sean McGinty will be a "good addition" to his squad.
McGinty has joined Rovers until the end of the season from Manchester United, and Moore is happy to be able to strengthen his options at the back.
The former Rotherham United boss told the club's official website: "He can play left-back or centre-back and gives us extra options in our defence.
"Our chief scout Dave Philpotts has watched him play for United's Under-21s and he's a big, strong lad who likes to get forward.
"Manchester United rate him highly and I'm sure he'll be a good addition to our squad."
The 19-year-old has yet to make his senior debut at Old Trafford.
