Ryan Giggs: 'Current Wales side can beat anyone if they are on their game'

Ryan Giggs claims that Chris Coleman's current Wales side could beat any international side in the world "if they are on their game".

Ryan Giggs has claimed that Wales could beat any international side in the world "if they are on their game".

Manchester United assistant manager Giggs made 64 caps for Wales during his playing career but was unable to help his country to a major tournament.

With Chris Coleman now guiding the national side to Euro 2016, however, Giggs says that the Dragons will embrace life in the spotlight as underdogs.

"Wales can beat anyone in a one-off match if they are on their game. They have a great team ethic. If you look at them they look a lot like a club side with a great mentality," he told Wales Online.

"It won't be easy, but I'm sure Wales will go to the tournament and embrace it. They will enjoy it.

"The pressure is definitely off them. Not much is expected of Wales and the pressure will be on the more-established sides there. I think they can upset a few teams and I think they can definitely get out of the group."

Wales, who are currently 15th in the FIFA world rankings, last week lost 3-2 to the Netherlands.
