West Bromwich Albion striker Shane Long believes that he can replace Romelu Lukaku for the Baggies next season.
The Belgium international has rejoined Chelsea following the end of his season-long loan spell at The Hawthorns, where he scored 17 goals in the Premier League in the last campaign.
Long told reporters: "The futures of a few of us are up in the air. I fully intend to stay and firmly believe I can do the job Romelu managed last season.
"The two of us were vying for one position. I was first choice for a while and then Romelu came in and scored a hat-trick. I couldn't complain."
The 26-year-old scored 11 goals in all competitions for Steve Clarke's side last season.
