Preview: FA Cup - Sheffield Wednesday vs. West Ham

League One contenders Sheffield Wednesday take on Championship challengers West Ham in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday.

West Ham United face a tough FA Cup fixture against League One title contenders Sheffield Wednesday this weekend.

The Owls head into the match with the Championship side on the back of two straight wins but remain unsure on whether on-loan Stoke City winger Ben Marshall can feature in the game.

The 20-year-old has yet to be given clearance by the Potters, so David Prutton is likely to line up in midfield if Marshall doesn't receive the green light in time. Meanwhile, defender Miguel Llera has returned to Blackpool following a loan spell, which could free up skipper Rob Jones back into the fold.

The Hammers travel to the Hillsborough stadium with a strong squad, but manager Sam Allardyce is keeping one eye on the London side's league challenge, which means that a handful of players including captain Kevin Nolan are likely to be rested.

The former Premier League side are expected to field Henri Lansbury and Gary O'Neil in midfield, while young gun Dan Potts may get a first-team call up.
