Wigan Athletic reportedly face competition from a Championship club in their pursuit of extending Middlesbrough winger Yanic Wildschut's loan deal.
The 24-year-old has impressed during his stint at the DW Stadium by scoring four goals and adding another couple of assists.
Latics boss Gary Caldwell recently admitted that he was keen to keep Wildschut in place beyond the end of his current loan spell, while some reports even suggested that a permanent move could be on the cards.
Middlesbrough themselves have no intention of recalling the Dutchman but, according to Gazette Live, an unnamed side in the second tier are also interested.
Wildschut has made 12 appearances for Athletic in all since joining on a temporary deal last month, where he has helped his new side to get their promotion aspirations firmly back on track.
