Benik Afobe: 'I wasn't worried about goal drought'

Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Benik Afobe insists that he had not been worried about his recent goal drought before netting twice against Huddersfield Town.

Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Benik Afobe has revealed that he always remained confident that he would bring an end to his recent scoring drought.

Before his side's 3-0 win over Huddersfield Town, Afobe had only netted once - a penalty against Bolton Wanderers - since August 19, but the England Under-21 international broke his duck with two goals against the Terriers at Molineux.

The 22-year-old told Sky Sports News: "As an attacking player, you always want to score goals but I wasn't worried about it.

"I have been working hard and I haven't changed my routine. I have been doing extra finishing after training and it fell to me today, and luckily, I put them in."

Victory for Wolves has moved them into sixth position in the Championship standings ahead of the rest of Saturday afternoon's fixtures.
