New Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Terry Connor has said that none of his players is safe from the axe if they do not perform well.
Skipper Roger Johnson was left out of Saturday's 2-2 draw with Newcastle United, the first time he missed a top-flight game since being promoted with Birmingham City three years ago.
"I've told the lads that I will treat every game on its own merits," Connor said.
"And I will pick what I think is the best team for that game regardless of captaincy, what anyone cost or a player's reputation.
"When you lose a game 5-1 at home like we did against West Brom you're not going to send out the same team and the same subs. I went with my gut feeling."
Wolves are currently 16th in the Premier League, one point off the drop zone.
