Newly-promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers reportedly remain in with a chance of signing Portugal international striker Andre Silva from AC Milan this summer.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly still in the running to sign AC Milan striker Andre Silva this summer.

Wolves have been linked with the 22-year-old throughout the current transfer window as they look to strengthen their squad following their promotion to the Premier League.

Silva is eager to leave San Siro having endured a difficult debut season at Milan following his big-money move from Porto, scoring just two goals in Serie A throughout the 2017-18 campaign.

The player's agent Jorge Mendes is a close associate of Wolves, and the Birmingham Mail reports that the Portugal international has told Mendes to secure a move away from Milan.

However, the Italian outfit are thought to be intent on recouping as much of the €38m (£33.8m) they spent on him last summer in order to aid with their financial issues.

Silva is willing to consider a move to Wolves, having previously worked with manager Nuno Espirito Santo at Porto, although Valencia are also interested in the striker and would be able to offer Premier League football.

Milan are already facing the prospect of losing a number of first-team players this summer, with Leonardo Bonucci, Suso and Gianluigi Donnarumma also being linked with moves away.
