Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly failed in a bid to sign Portuguese youngster Edson Silva.
Having impressed during his time at fourth-tier outfit GD Alcochetense, the 18-year-old has emerged as a transfer target for a number of European clubs.
Wolves have allegedly monitored the progression of the teenager by sending representatives to several games in recent months.
However, according to Football Insider, Silva has instead opted to sign a deal with Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon.
The report claims that Silva is happy to pen a three-year contract, which includes a £39m release clause.
