Wolverhampton Wanderers are allegedly planning to smash their transfer record to sign Atalanta midfielder Franck Kessie.

The West Midlands club are already reportedly interested in breaking their current record with an £18m deal for Adama Traore, who is said to be undertaking a medical on Tuesday.

However, Italian outlet Calciomercato reports that Wolves could break their record once more with a £36m swoop for Kessie.

The 21-year-old, who is currently in the second year of a two-season loan at AC Milan, scored five goals and provided four assists in 37 Serie A games last term.

Kessie has netted 11 times in 67 appearances throughout his career in the Italian top flight to date.
