Tiger Woods has progressed through to the semi-finals of the World Golf Final by outplaying Rory McIlroy to win by six shots.
Both players required a win to stand any chance of making the last four of the tournament but it was the American who came out on top after he recorded a round of seven-under par.
McIlroy could only respond with a modest one-under par and the defeat left the world number one without a victory in the inaugural staging of the event.
In the other match of Group A, South African Charl Schwartzel edged out American Matt Kuchar by two shots to join Woods in the semi-finals.
