A Chelsea supporter appeared in court today to face a charge of racial harassment in relation to an alleged incident at Stamford Bridge in August last year.
Robert Spence, who is in British Army, denied accusations that he made racial slurs while at Chelsea's home ground on August 12.
According to The Mirror, district judge Ray Crosby adjourned the case at Hammersmith Magistrates' Court and the 31-year-old Chelsea supporter will stand trial on June 30.
The court appearance comes just days after a group of Chelsea fans were caught on camera allegedly racially abusing a black man by preventing him from boarding a train at a Paris Metro and chanting, "we're racist, we're racist and that's the way we like it".
Today, Chelsea issued an apology and publicly condemned the actions of a small group of fans as an investigation involving the Metropolitan and Paris police continues.
