Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson was nowhere to be seen at his former club's end-of-season dinner because he was too busy honouring golfer Rory McIlroy at the European Tour Players' Awards on Tuesday night.
The Scotsman joined the world number one, who was named Golfer of the Year and Players' Player of the Year, on stage during the event.
Ferguson was a welcome addition to the guest list as he gave an inspirational speech to the Europe Ryder Cup team prior to their victory over the USA at Gleneagles last year.
Former US Open winner Justin Rose posted a photo of Ferguson sat with the Ryder Cup players during last night's ceremony in London.
Always great to get the boys back together! (📷cred @reddersgolf )
