David Beckham attends birthday party for the Queen with Helen Mirren

David Beckham attended a birthday party in honour of the Queen alongside actress Helen Mirren while in China.

The former England captain posed for photos with the 68-year-old actress, who is said to be in the country to promote her new film Parker at the Shanghai Film Festival.

Beckham, who retired from football following a five-month stint at Paris Saint-Germain, took time out from his ambassadorial duties to attend the bash.

The pair are believed to have met for the first time at an awards ceremony in 2007.
