Castleford coach Ian Millward claims that a number of injuries contributed to his side's downfall at St Helens on Friday night.

Castleford Tigers coach Ian Millward has claimed that a number of injuries contributed to his team's downfall at St Helens on Friday night.

Millward's side were beaten ,a href="/rugby-league/castleford-tigers/result/result-st-helens%0944-12-castleford-tigers_40681.html">44-12 at Langtree Park in what was their fifth straight defeat.

"Saints defended really well and I can't fault our effort and commitment," he said. "We had seven players out and three gone and we are not a big enough club to have that many players out."

The loss has left the Tigers 13th in the Super League table.
