Clermont Auvergne edge out Saracens

Wesley Fofana scores the only try of the match to lead Clermont Auvergne to a 13-9 win over Saracens in the semi-finals of the European Rugby Champions Cup.

Clermont Auvergne secured a place in the European Rugby Champions Cup final after coming from behind to beat Saracens 13-9 in the semi-finals this afternoon.

Chances were limited in the first half, but Charlie Hodgson opened the scoring for the visitors with a drop goal, while a penalty from the veteran fly-half kept the English club in front at the interval.

Clermont were ahead for the first time early in the second half as Wesley Fofana made the most of a quick break by the hosts, powering down the sideline to score the only try of the match.

Owen Farrell took over kicking duties for Saracens to keep the scores close, but Brock James kicked three more points late on to seal the win for the hosts.

The French side will face either Toulon or Leinster in the final at Twickenham next month.
