Connacht flanker Jonny O'Connor announces that he will retire from professional rugby at the end of the season.

Connacht flanker Jonny O'Connor has revealed that he will retire from professional rugby at the end of the season.

The 33-year-old, who has battled a host of injuries during his career, won 12 international caps for Ireland after making his debut in 2004.

"After 14 years playing professional rugby, my body is telling me that it is 'my time' now," he told reporters at a press conference.

"I have enjoyed my playing career massively and it would not have been possible without all the people who have supported me along the way."

O'Connor, who has also played for London Wasps, is currently nursing an ankle injury.
