Former England scrum-half Matt Dawson has claimed that he is "disgusted" by Manu Tuilagi's conviction for assaulting two police officers.
Coach Stuart Lancaster confirmed on Friday that the 23-year-old centre would not be selected for the Rugby World Cup because of the incident.
With a long list of past misdemeanours already to his name, Dawson believes that Tuilagi should be ashamed by this latest controversy.
"There is no excuse," he told BBC Sport. "He is potentially a great player for England and it's so irresponsible. He deserves everything he gets, he's got a terrible record. I'm just disgusted, I'm disappointed."
Tuilagi has won 25 senior caps for England since 2011.
