Northampton coach Jim Mallinder is disappointed with his side's second-half display in Friday's 27-16 win at Sale.

Northampton Saints coach Jim Mallinder has revealed that he was disappointed with his side's performance during Friday's 27-16 win at Sale Sharks in the Aviva Premiership.

The Saints withstood a late comeback from the Sharks at the Salford City Stadium after scoring three tries in the opening 40 minutes.

"I was slightly disappointed with the second-half performance," Mallinder told Sky Sports News.

"I think in the first half we were very good and dominated the game.

"I'm disappointed with the second half but we got the win and that's important, particularly away from home."

The victory has moved Northampton up to second place in the table.
