Warren Gatland has admitted that Bradley Davies deserved to be sent off for a dangerous tackle during Wales's 23-21 victory over Ireland yesterday.
Davies was yellow-carded in the 65th minute for dump tackling Donnacha Ryan.
"I think there's intent and if you look at that and ask me, there's definitely an intent in there," Gatland said. "So I wouldn't argue with the decision of that being given a red card.
"It's not local club rugby where you get away with those things.
"We've got the very best referees in the world, you've got to keep your head. You can't get caught up in the moment and have ill-discipline, because that does cost you."
Wales continue their Six Nations campaign against Scotland in Cardiff on Sunday.
