Great Britain's Laura Stephens qualifies for the 50m butterfly final at the European Games, but Ireland's Emma Reid misses out.

Great Britain's Laura Stephens has edged into the final of the 50m butterfly at the European Games.

The 16-year-old, who won bronze in the 100m event, finished in fourth place in the second semi-final in Baku.

The London athlete qualified 0.4 seconds slower than Russia's Polina Egorova, who topped the standings.

However, there was disappointment for Ireland's Emma Reid, who finished in last place in the first heat.
