Matthew Grevers has said that he feels "incredible" after upgrading his Beijing 100m backstroke silver to gold in London.

Olympic 100m backstroke gold-medallist Matthew Grevers has said that he feels "incredible" after his victory in London.

Grevers won silver in the same event in Beijing and this time managed to go up a step on the podium.

"I feel incredible," Los Angeles Times quotes Grevers as saying. "It was something I wanted since I was 10 years old. I came so close in '08, getting silver.

"When Aaron Peirsol announced his retirement I knew it was a great opportunity for me to step in those shoes and hopefully get a gold medal and I did it."

Grevers won two golds and a silver in Beijing.
