Roger Federer content with display against Blaz Kavcic at Australian Open

Roger Federer says that he is "happy" to reach the third round of the Australian Open following a straight-sets win over Blaz Kavcic.

World number six Roger Federer has expressed his 'happiness' at reaching the third round of the Australian Open.

The Swiss pro managed to clinch a place in the next round with a 6-2 6-1 7-6(4) win over Blaz Kavcic.

"The first two sets were great," BBC Sport quotes Federer as saying. "I played offensive tennis and kept pressure on but in the third set he served better and it made things a little tougher for me. It was humid and I was happy to get through."

Play in Melbourne was earlier delayed for more than three hours due to the extreme heat on the outer courts.
