Samantha Stosur has booked her place in the French Open third round following a 6-1 6-4 victory over Irina Falconi.
The Australian pro got off to a positive start in Paris by grabbing the first break and maintaining her service games comfortably.
America's Falconi was less successful in the early stages of the set as she struggled to impose her own game on the contest and lost control of the clay court and the lead.
The second set was a more equal battle, with the initial games of the set going by the way of serve with neither opponent being able to force a breakthrough.
Despite a tussle between the pair, it was Stosur who used her experience to snatch the advantage and go on to clinch the second set and the match.
