Grigor Dimitrov is through to the quarter-finals of the Monte Carlo Masters by beating Florian Mayer in straight sets.
The Bulgarian is attempting to establish himself in the world's top 30, and he took a step nearer to that feat by recording a 6-2 6-4 win over his German opponent.
The 21-year-old was at his flamboyant best in surging through the opening set and he looked on course to seal victory in double-quick time.
However, Mayer struck back when Dimitrov attempted to serve for the match, but in the next game, he responded with a break of serve of his own to move through to the last eight.
He will now play Rafael Nadal, who sealed an equally impressive victory over Philipp Kohlschreiber.
