Defending champion Agnieszka Radwanska has been dumped out of the Sydney International in round two after losing in straight sets to Bethanie Mattek-Sands.
Top seed Radwanska won only 40% of points behind her first serve and was broken seven times en route to being beaten 7-5 6-2.
Mattek-Sands started very poorly, winning just one point in the opening three games of the match to fall two breaks behind early on.
The American quickly recovered to level the set at 3-3, before another Radwanska surge put the Pole 5-3 ahead.
Radwanska's game then capitulated, allowing Mattek-Sands to reel off seven games in a row, earning her the first set and a 3-0 lead in the second.
Mattek-Sands, who hit 34 winners in the match, will face either Ajla Tomljanovic or Madison Keys in round three.
