Johanna Konta excited about remainder of season

British number two Johanna Konta insists that she won't dwell on her US Open fourth-round defeat to Petra Kvitova.

Johanna Konta has suggested that she can continue her improvement on the WTA Tour after reaching the US Open fourth round.

Konta saw her impressive run at Flushing Meadows come to an end against fifth seed Petra Kvitova, but the British number two has revealed that she is already looking ahead to the rest of the year.

The 24-year-old is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "I'm not blown away by my performance here. I'm just satisfied that I get a little bit of candy for doing well.

"I'm just really looking forward to heading already to my next tournament. Obviously I need to take a little bit of a break now, just a couple days' rest, but I'm looking forward to the next plane I'm on to head to Asia."

Konta will move up to 58th in the world rankings next week, while she is currently sits in 55th place in the WTA race, which only includes results during 2015.
