Mark Footitt has been added to the England Performance Programme squad for the winter.
The bowler, who recently joined Surrey from Derbyshire, will travel to South Africa on November 11 and then on to Dubai for a number of training sessions and games against Pakistan A.
Footitt, 29, was named in the full England squad during this summer's Ashes, but he did not make the starting lineup.
Meanwhile, his Surrey teammate Zafar Ansari will not fly out with the rest of the selection in order to continue his recovery from a thumb injury.
