Ireland's Natasha MacManus "really pleased" with 3m springboard qualification

Irish diver Natasha MacManus says that she is delighted with qualifying for the 3m springboard final at the European Games.

Irish diver Natasha MacManus has said that she is "really pleased" with reaching the 3m springboard final in 10th place.

The 17-year-old switched to diving after suffering injuries as a gymnast.

"I didn't really know what to expect," MacManus told reporters. "I was hoping for top 15 so I'm really pleased. This is the best result I've had in a while."

"I hurt my knee as well doing gymnastics. I went to try diving and I liked it. The gymnastics laid the foundations for the diving. I moved to Plymouth when I was about 14 and it was tough at first but I went for my diving and I've made lots of friends."

The British pair of Katherine Torrance and Lydia Rosenthall finished first and second respectively.
