Great Britain's Jack Laugher has failed to reach the podium in the 3m springboard final after finishing fifth at the European Aquatics Championship.

The 19-year-old's overall score of 471.20 was not enough to earn him a medal, while his teammate Chris Mears failed to make the final in Berlin.

Patrick Hausding of Germany scooped the gold medal with a total of 487.85, while Russia's Ilia Zakharov secured the silver medal and Illya Kvasha of Ukraine nabbed bronze.

Laugher headed to Berlin having secured two gold medals and one silver at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
