Japan manager Alberto Zaccheroni has backed Keisuke Honda to be a success at AC Milan.
The midfielder is rumoured to sign for Milan on a free transfer when his contract with CSKA Moscow expires on December 31, and Zaccheroni believes that playing in Italy will help him improve his game.
"Honda is not officially a Milan player yet, so I can't technically say anything about that," he told Sky Sport Italia.
"I can only say that the other Japanese players who have played in Italy really benefited from taking part in such a difficult tournament as Serie A."
Honda has won 52 caps for the Japanese national team.
