AFC Wimbledon boss Neal Ardley likely to miss Tranmere Rovers clash

AFC Wimbledon boss Neal Ardley is expected to miss his side's trip to Tranmere Rovers due to hip surgery.

AFC Wimbledon boss Neal Ardley is expected to miss his side's trip to Tranmere Rovers on Saturday due to hip surgery.

The 42-year-old will go under the knife on Thursday in order to correct a long-standing problem.

Despite there being a chance of him making the game at Prenton Park, Ardley admits that he will probably be forced to rest up.

"It is doubtful I will be there on Saturday," he told the club's official website. "We have put a process in place in case I feel up to it, but it might be too much for me. I am likely to be on crutches for two weeks. You cannot pick your time when it is being done through the NHS and I have waited for 18 months."

AFC Wimbledon are currently in 12th place in the League Two table.
