Roy Hodgson hopeful over fitness of Jack Wilshere, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

England manager Roy Hodgson is confident that Arsenal pair Jack Wilshere and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be fit for selection at Euro 2016.

England manager Roy Hodgson has claimed that he expects Arsenal duo Jack Wilshere and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to be fit for contention ahead of this summer's European Championships in France.

Wilshere has been sidelined for the majority of the season, while Oxlade-Chamberlain was issued with an eight-week layoff at the start of the month due to a knee injury.

Euro 2016 gets underway on June 10, and Hodgson is confident that the pair will be fit.

"I speak more with [Arsenal manager] Arsene Wenger than with the individuals," Hodgson told reporters. "Arsene tells me Jack is making very good progress and will be back in the near future.

"No reason to believe that Alex won't be back some time in April and will still have a chance to impress us and get his name on a list of potential travellers."

Hodgson has included Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater in his senior squad for international friendlies against Germany and the Netherlands.
