Arsene Wenger: 'Danny Welbeck to miss further three weeks with knee injury'

Arsene Wenger says that Danny Welbeck is expected to be out of action for another three weeks as the England international looks to recover from a knee injury.

Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck is expected to be out of action for another three weeks, Arsene Wenger has revealed.

The 24-year-old has been out since April with a knee injury which had been expected to clear up within a few days, and Wenger says that the England international will have to wait a few more weeks to return.

"He is not close, because he has not started full training. He will be at least three weeks from today," the Gunners manager told reporters.

Welbeck signed for Arsenal from Manchester United last season and has scored eight goals in 34 appearances.
