Mikel Arteta: 'Arsenal can win Premier League'

Mikel Arteta says that Arsenal have "every chance to win" the Premier League title this season.

Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta has said that he is confident that his side can win the Premier League title this season.

The Gunners defeated Sunderland 4-1 at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday to remain a point behind leaders Chelsea in second place in the table.

"We played really well," Arsenal's official website quotes the 31-year-old as saying. "Some of the goals we scored were really good as well and we got three important points to keep going.

"We wanted to show that we are really committed, that we are up for it and we played some fantastic football. The reaction of the team [to the defeat to Bayern Munich in midweek] was really good, really convincing. We won the game and happy to be where we are.

"We have every chance to win [the title]. We're going to have it really tough from now on but for three or four teams it's going to be really tough. We just need to keep going and see where we are at the end of April because that's when everything is going to be decided."

Arsenal currently have 59 points from 27 matches.
