Lukas Podolski has questioned whether he should continue playing football following criticism from the Italian media.
The 29-year-old, who is on loan at Inter Milan from Arsenal this season, is yet to find the back of the net under manager Roberto Mancini.
The German World Cup winner has struggled to get the media onside and he was recently named the second worst signing of the season in a poll by Gazzetta dello Sport.
"People keep bringing up how the Italian media looks at me," the London Evening Standard quotes Podolski as saying. "What can I do about it? Should I just dig myself into the ground and give up playing football?"
Podolski was shipped out to Italy in January after falling down the pecking order at the Emirates.
